Any thoughts/advice on a 25 rd M-14 (M1A) Magazine. Advertised as GI SPEC. No markings
Never used or even saw one while I was in. 20rd was largest capacity I ever saw in Mil Spring strong enough to handle 25 rds ya think? Go/No Go? TIA |

Re: M1A Mag Question
Nah not yet, I rotate my loaded mags and haven't got to them yet.
I only partially load mags that sit in the ready anyway. |

Re: M1A Mag Question
Yes I have shot up a few 25 rounders. They functioned fine. They are a little long but still worked well off the bench.

Magazine: Device for storage of ammunition.
Load them. Load them ALL. Keep them loaded until you need to reload them |
Re: M1A Mag Question
Make sure that any 25rd mags are made by CMI (current Mil contractor). I believe that all of their current production mags are marked CMI on the back. Some of their older 20rd mags were not marked which led to them being stamped as older various USGI mags by fraudsters. The problem wasn't their reliability but the fact that a brand new GI spec CMI mag used to go for about $23 while an original USGI mag was going for $40-$50.
To my knowledge there aren't any 25rd mags or higher capacity (unless made by CMI) that I would bet my life with. Bx3 |
